Saturday brunch with the husband at The Cathay Restaurant
Photo above credited to The Cathay Restaurant
Super shiok sambal chili with generous amount of "heibi" (dried shrimps) in it.
Mexico baked custard bun .. very similar to puoluobao
Sweet filing
Smooth century egg with lean meat congee
Another must order.. Fried banana with prawn fritter
Interesting clash of flavors between the sweet from banana and salty from prawn..
The bun that draws me back to this restaurant... Salted egg custard bun..
Salted egg custard overflow.. loves the oozing...
One minus point about The Cathay is they serve so-so Xiao long bao, har kau and siew mai... mini in size and nothing fabulous.. quite disappointing right, especially when these few dishes are the basic of dimsum culture..
Another "wow" dish from the restaurant... Vinegar pig trotter!! The husband first try on 猪脚醋, he didn't enjoy the vinegar, which is a "woohoo" for me.. Shiokness
BTW they serve pretty decent cheechongfan too..
Discount deals: 15% off almost all credit card with min purchase of $50 and 30% off dimsum on weekdays.. last order from dimsum was 230pm
Overall Experience: They made us fall in love with dim sum all over again...
